The West Penn Energy Services Welding and Fabrication Division is a skilled, veteran team known for delivering quality service in an efficient, safe manner. Our staff has the expertise to work on a variety of pipe diameters and section lengths. Think of us as a mobile assembly line that moves in unison to the pipe as it is put in place. During a 10-hour day, we can complete between 800 and 1,200 feet of 12-inch pipe. We work in weather and terrain conditions – heat, cold, rain, snow, and mud.
We put our reputation on the line every day, with our name literally on every weld we perform.
The Value We Add
With our Welding and Fabrication Division, West Penn Energy Services truly is a turnkey operation, offering construction of a pipeline from beginning to end in a cohesive fashion. Our welders are familiar with the personnel and operations of our other divisions and work collaboratively with them. If an outside welding firm would have to be retained, there would be an adjustment period that would reduce productivity. Additional oversight also would be necessary. By performing that critical function ourselves, we add accountability.
Certifications and Safety
Safety is always on our minds. We never lose sight of the fact that our welds are a critical component of a pipeline that will be buried near homes and businesses. Our welders are certified to meet Standard 1104 of the American Petroleum Institute. We also meet the specific standards of each client by testing to obtain welding cards from the organizations we serve and then requalifying in the field every six months. For clients whom we serve regularly, our welding team keeps up their organizational cards, so we are prepared to immediately begin future jobs.
Additional Services
West Penn Energy Services offers general welding services for our clients at our state-of-the-art welding shop with cranes at our Shelocta headquarters. We provide structural welding of pipe supports and other equipment and infrastructure, including on an emergency basis. West Penn Energy Services can fabricate any size launcher/ receiver for your pipelining facilities, as well as fuel skids and metering stations.
